Dark clouds formed, masking the warmth of summer

The leaves began to wither away and die
I could never again face the light of the sun

The sadness became anger, and the anger become hate
Every night I cried in the dark gloom of the night
As I walked aimlessly through the shadow forest
Drifting further away from all I had ever known

I remember holding you in my arms the night you died
As I kissed your soft lips and caressed your skin
Your skin was so pale and you became so cold
There was nothing I could do but cry in pain

My thoughts became dark and I gave myself to the moon
That night I prayed for my own death, but it was all in vain…

Après un Through Twilight... passable, Mort crée Descending Further into Nothingness sous le patronyme d'Exiled from Light, un album de DSBM lancinant aux atmosphères spectrales bien meilleur. Malgré tout, le démon de la stagnation continue de le harceler : la batterie est le grand point fort mais certains schémas se répètent et, couplés aux riffs minimalistes, ils empêchent certaines pistes de se distinguer l'une de l'autre. Le début est un peu long mais cet album en vaut vraiment la peine ! Jordan Vauvert

NONE a opéré un virage dans Where Life Should Be et ça se confirme davantage dans Damp Chill of Life. Le temps des métaphores est révolu : l'humidité froide, c'est celle des larmes qui coulent sur le visage à cause de la dépression. Tout pleure dans cet album : les guitares typées DSBM grésillent, les solos ("The Damp Chill of Life", "It's Painless To Let Go") sont liquides et coulent, les voix prennent à la gorge ; même le piano, étranglé par les sanglots ("Cease"), est aphone.
